Virtual Gathering Elders Teachings

In 2020 we faced unprecedented times in the wake of a pandemic. As a result, the Looking After Each Other Annual Gathering could not proceed on the land. Thankfully, the Manitoba FASD Coalition, the Looking After Each Other project and Lake Manitoba First Nation partnered to create the 2020 Looking After Each Other VIRTUAL Gathering consisting of a series of virtual Indigenous teachings. Three sessions were offered endeavouring to share knowledge within the FASD world and with Indigenous Elders and First Nations Communities across the province.

Looking After Each other Virtual Gathering: Session One – The Seven Sacred Teachings with Dr. Dave Courchene and Elder Florence Paynter
Looking After Each Other Virtual Gathering: Session Two – The Rites of Passage
with Elder Katherine Whitecloud and Dr. Dave Courchene
Looking After Each other Virtual Gathering: Session Three – The Significance of the Sweatlodge Ceremony with Elders Gordon Walker and Robert Maytwayashing
Looking After Each other Virtual Gathering: Session Four – Wa-Say Healing Centre: Supporting People Impacted by the Indian Residential and Day Schools
