Kim Barthel Presentation in The Pas

The Pas and Area FASD Committee is pleased to announce that Kim Barthel will be speaking in The Pas on October 5, 2017.  Kim will be speaking on “How Attachment Shapes our Lives”, including how our attachment may change when a child has autism, FASD, anxiety, or other challenges. This workshop is open to Flin Flon, Swan River, The Pas and surrounding areas.

Manitoba FASD Coalition Annual General Meeting

2017 AGM PosterThe Manitoba FASD Coalition will host their first Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 5 p.m. at the SSCY Centre, 1155 Notre Dame, Winnipeg and via Telehealth. Members will have the opportunity to approve the recently developed Coalition Bylaws and participate in the annual election of officers. To nominate a Coalition member to serve on the Board of Directors please submit a nomination form no later than October 3rd.

Information Series

Parents, caregivers, other family members and professionals who support children and youth under 18 years of age, recently seen or diagnosed at the Manitoba FASD Centre.

Topics Include

  • What does it mean that my child has FASD?
  • How will FASD affect their behaviour, school performance and social interactions?
  • How can I help others understand my child’s disability?
  • How can I help my child/youth understand his/her disability?
  • How can I help my child/youth develop his/her strengths?

Please note that we will be discussing a different topic each week.  We encourage you to commit to attend for the entire 8 weeks.  Please note there will be a maximum of 65 participants registered for this series.
