September is FASD Awareness Month

- by John Luxford

September is recognized across Canada and globally as FASD Awareness Month, extending the focus beyond a single day. First officially recognized by the Canadian government in 2020, the month highlights Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). International FASD Day, celebrated every September 9th since 1999, remains a key highlight dedicated to improving prevention, early diagnosis, and support for individuals and families affected by FASD.
